At present about 1200 students (both boys and girls) are day scholars. The present in inmates of the hostel will be vacating hostel by 30th April 2007 i.e.  before they go for their summer projects.

Mess facilities will also be provided at a cost of approximately Rs.2,000/- (Rupees Two Thousand) per month. The exact mess fee and menu thereof will be negotiated by the student body once they reach our location and once they are selected by the students. It is not compulsory as restaurants are also there in the campus. So it is left to the discretion of the students. The cost of mess facilities can also be covered from the bank loan, although it is not required to be remitted to us.

Top
The committee will consist of four members (two male members and two female members) who will be available to study and to explain grievances/complaints of any sort at any time. The committee will function independently and its recommendations will be binding on every one in BITM. Further, any student desirous of meeting the Director could do so with his/her class representative on all working days. The names of the committee members will be notified every year.
Campus Placement
Top
We are focusing on placement of our students in blue chip companies, banks etc. in the country. Campus placement activities are a compulsory part of our system.
The institute will assist in the placement of ‘Eligible’ students through campus interviews. The eligibility will be based on ‘Final Qualified List’ of students for placements prepared by the Director. Placement assistance will be provided not as a right, but only on fulfilling the conditions/criteria which will be laid down by the director. Those placed in ‘Red List’ will not be allowed campus placement facility.
The following will be the guiding principles of appearing in the "Qualified List":
Attendance
Feedback on the students from the company on Internship/Project Work.
Discipline in the Class and Campus.
Examination record. Those carrying backlogs will be disqualified.
Findings of Pre-Placement Screening Committee which will be constituted by the Director.
Management Of Quota Seats
Top
10% of the seats (out of this 5% of the seats is meant for industry sponsored categories) in all the above programme are allotted to qualified candidates at the discretion of the director with twice the prescribed fee. Allotment of these seats will be made only after declaration of result for admission for all the selection centres. Request for such seats should be made only to the Registrar of BITM by the candidate / parents directly, in writing, and not to any one else. And only the candidate(s) or parent(s) should write and talk if they want.
All those who are seeking admission against management quota will also be required to fill up a form, which shall be personally approved by the President, Sri Balaji Society. Third party interference will disqualify the candidate. However, industry can write to the Institute. Any one who tries to apply any pressure should note that we are not inclined to accept any such recommendation and such recommendations will be considered as disqualification.
We have not appointed any agent and we will not accept the recommendations of any one. Therefore, paying money to any agent who may claim and act as close to the management or any one closer to the management will be at your risk. Such dangerous people are existing, and we have reports from the past that many were cheated. Therefore, we caution everyone not to depend on such characters, not withstanding their positions, status or affiliations to anyone as many cases of cheating have been reported in the past.
Industry Sponsered Candidates
Top
5 seats in each programme are reserved for industry sponsored candidates. These seats will be allotted to only those companies which are participating in our campus placements or which intend to participate in our campus placement programme with immediate effect. Requests for admission against industry sponsored candidates will be accepted from only those companies which offer an annual salary of rupees three lakhs and above. And the request for admission against this quota should be sent to the Executive Director by the Director HR or Managing Director of the company in their letter head well in advance.
Attendance
Top

Attending classes and learning in the class through learned faculties is a critical step of growth and development of students, as the skills required by the Industry are taught in a systematic and progressive manner for which consistency in attendance is a pre-requirement. Absence from class leads to discontinuity in learning and defeats the very approach of progressive learning, as the subjects are inter-connected and missing one session may lead to confusion when the next session is being conducted.

Consequently, it is not only difficult but also puts those students under tremendous pressure and helplessness leading to a stress, frustration and depression. We have come across quite a few cases of such students becoming psychiatric cases because of the pressure on them. Therefore, attending classes regularly is a requirement of any student who joins a good management institution. Similarly, studying at home/hostel everyday regularly can only lead to expected growth and development of students.

  1. Students are therefore expected to regularly attend all the classes and other training commitments. The minimum attendance required from students to be eligible to appear in the examinations and to be considered for campus placements is 80% as we cannot field insufficiently qualified students before the companies for campus placements. Those who fail to maintain 80% attendance will be detained in the first year only and will not be promoted to second year. However, they can repeat the first year by paying 50% of the prescribed fee. The 20% of attendance at the disposal of the students is considered very adequate to cater for ordinary medical contingencies and definitely cater for adequate number of days for any kind of absence. What is to be clearly understood is that we are offering professional courses and absence beyond a certain period will result in their not receiving the required training. Therefore our focus on training and not on the attendance. Those Students who don’t  miss any lecture and save on attendance can relax.
  2.  Those students who maintain 95% of attendance will be eligible for the following considerations:-
    1. An attendance incentive of 5 marks per paper.
    2. Some companies want to see only few students and not all for selection process for want of time or other reasons. Wherever students are thus required to be short listed for companies in short numbers for campus placements, i.e. 20-30 students or a little more only are to be fielded for a particular company, students with 95% attendance will get preference over others as we consider them better equipped and more focused to studies. However, if these students are not performing well academically, and if the companies prescribe marks as the key factor, the marks will also be given adequate weightage.
Mess Facility
Top
Mess facilities will also be provided at a cost of approximately Rs.2,000/- (Rupees Two Thousand) per month. The exact mess fee and menu thereof will be negotiated by the student body once they reach our location and once they are selected by the students. It is not compulsory as restaurants are also there in the campus. So it is left to the discretion of the students. The cost of mess facilities can also be covered from the bank loan, although it is not required to be remitted to us.

Top
We have a well-equipped Library for our students. They are allowed to draw eight books at a time for a period of 15 days. The Library subscribes to all the leading newspapers, periodicals and international magazines. In case the books are not returned to the Library by due date, a fine is charged as per instructions of the institute. A refundable Library deposit of Rs.3000/-is required to be paid by each student at the time of admission.

Top
A doctor appointed by us will be available in the Institute for an hour thrice a week. Those seeking medical assistance can meet him/her. All the students will also go through complete medical heck-up in the Institute. However all the absences on medical grounds will have to be adjusted by the students amongst 5%.Students having medical problem of any kind are advised not to apply to BITM as even the industry expects perfect medical fitness.
Student's Council
Top
The Students' Council is the forum of student representatives that steer the student community. The council is a bunch of highly motivated and focused students who coordinate the placement activities, seminars, discipline, public relations, cultural activities, sports, academics, etc.
At BITM the council believes that every hidden talent should be discovered and every dream should be realized. The council forms the bridge to transfer the discipline and the tradition and work actively in molding the student managers to reach their desired destinations.
Membership of Alumni Association
Top

Each and every student passing out of BITM is required to become a member of 'BITM Alumni Association' by paying a membership fee is equivalent to one month's 'take home pay' which should be paid within three months of a student joining the job through campus placements. This is to appreciate the fact that the management is investing enormous resources and efforts to place the students not with standing the fact loan are being borrowed from banks to create the state of art infrastructure to benefit the students. The resources thus generated will be utilised for 'debit servicing', and after that efforts will be made to create 'BITM Clubs' in the capital city of each state-one after the other where all the students of BITM can have privileged club facilities for them and their families. This also shows our confidence that efforts will be made top place each and every student who join BITM.
